About us
We are a local community-owned and operated toy library, with hundreds of good quality toys for children from birth to age 5 and beyond.
Our library is located at Ngaio Town Hall and open every second Saturday from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
Our librarian & volunteers
Mackenzie
Librarian
Our incredible librarian, Mackenzie, is an integral part of running the toy library session on every second Saturday.
Liv
Volunteer
Our amazing Liv is kindly gifting her Saturday mornings to help out at every sessions. Ka pai! What would we do without her!
Our committee
Committee and duty members are the driving force of our Toy Library. We are a community owned and run organisation - and registered charity. Which means we cannot function without the assistance of our members and community volunteers.
Our committee is a small team of volunteers. We meet monthly for about an hour and a half, and while we have some committee roles, like Chair, Treasurer, Toy Buyer and Secretary, most of our committee members help out as needed and as they are able to. We discuss and distribute upcoming work at our meetings, and loosely keep in touch in-between meetings via our chat.
Rebecca
Chair
Rebecca is the heart of the toy library. She is a great decision maker and leader of our pack. She also takes care of grants, making sure we can keep membership fees fair.
Simon
Treasurer
Simon's kiddos are in school now, but he is still generously giving his time to the toy library. He makes sure we do the important stuff: buy more toys.
Charlotte
Secretary
Charlotte takes care of communication with all our member families. Her background is in privacy. She has a little one of her own keeping her busy too.
Hannah
Toy buyer
Hannah has the best job in world - making sure we have toys that are fun, durable and in demand for all of our tamariki.
Irina
Duty roster
Irina is super friendly! She arranges our duty roster for the whole year. She assists members who want to change or swap out duty slots.
Mariza
Marketing
Mariza is the face behind all our social media posts and replying to emails in the inbox.
Our Vacancies
Committee Members
We are looking for members who are keen to help on our committee. We meet monthly for about an hour and welcome expressions of interest. If you can't commit to joining the committee, there are a lot of other ways you can help, whether that's organising member events, fundraising, helping with marketing or repairing toys.
